Even though the weather hasn't quite got the message, it's official Autumn and we couldn't be happier about it. Autumn has everything we love—sweaters, mulled cider, s'mores, Halloween, cuddling and of course APPLES!
We make it a tradition to head to the apple orchard and stock up on our types which are Jonagolds and Crimson Crisps. Both are perfect for eating straight or using in all the Fall baking and cooking we can do.
Since we took our orchard trip last week, we're ready for a bunch of apple-filled recipes. If you are two, here's a good place to start! Enjoy!
It’s amazing how much flavor this 5-ingredient recipe has. The focus is on the apples and the spices that bring out their best!
I made this once for fun, but quickly realized how delicious it was and now it’s my go-to for an easy and insanely good sweet treat. Something a little different but with the comfort of apples, cinnamon, and sweet batter. But in a upside-down sort of way.
GLUTEN-FREE, VEGAN BAKED CINNAMON APPLES
Baked Cinnamon Apples are a Southern comfort food staple and can be found at any meat & three. Oh by the way did I mention that this recipe is vegan AND gluten free? Well it is! Bonus!
The key to great Baked Cinnamon Apples is keeping it simple. Each bite should be tart, sweet, and spiced! The apples should be baked to be tender to the bite yet firm enough for a bit of crunch. Since we’re keeping it simple, the recipe is quick and easy to prepare. Plus your house will smell of all the goodness of fall flavors as the sugar caramelizes over the apple slices.

Doughnuts may seem tricky, but these are the complete opposite. They are simple and quick to make, taste like November should taste, and with their rustic sugar-coating, look like what you could pick up at a county fair or harvest festival!
Definitely a sweet treat to brag about. Just make sure to keep them safe until serving or they may disappear. I hate to admit it, but we ate our dozen immediately after we took the pictures. They’re irresistible! Literally apple cider in the form of a doughnut. Sweet, comforting and classic.
So first up a recipes I'm considering “a sweet breakfast” (looooophole!). This loaf is soft and apple-y without being overwhelming. It’s perfect for sharing or simply slicing for a quick on-the-go breakfast options. We personally have been enjoying in on the porch with a nice cup of tea in the afternoons.
These apples aren’t going to eat themselves! As you may have picked up on, I am much more confident in my baking skills than my cooking skills, especially since I prefer vegetables to meat. But occasionally I’ve got to show my man that I can make it happen, thus a fun new date night dinner recipe!
This dish has got a bit of everything—something sweet and crunchy, something savory and meaty, all swimming in a warm, comforting broth. Mmm!
We all know that cinnamon and apples were a match made in culinary heaven and that tart apples and creamy brie perfectly juxtapose each other, so it only stands to reason that all three would create a flavor explosion trifecta. Spoiler: It did!!!!
Today I took a couple tart Granny Smiths, chopped them up, tossed them with brown sugar and cinnamon, and pour them over a nice round of goat brie! Can I get an Amen? Amen!
I can’t believe this was the first time I tried incorporating caramel into my apple crisp and now it seems so obvious, why didn’t I do it earlier? How many apple crisps have I eaten happily oblivious to another way, a better way? I don’t even want to talk about it. Those days are over! Beautifully spiced, warm, tender caramel apples with a toasted, crunchy topping. Classic comfort food…with a twist.
Oh my GOSH guys!!! I am obsessing over these cinnamon apple muffins. Not only are they gluten-free + dairy-free, but INSANELY TENDER!
An excellent homebaked muffin should be three things—fluffy, tender and flavorful! And these muffins check all the boxes with A++! Gold stars all around!
The apples bring the freshness and the cinnamon compliments them to perfection. Did I mention that each has a crunchy, sweet topping? Well it does!
Crisp, tart apple slices coated with the perfect blend of fragrant spices, then wrapped up in buttery, flaky crust. I can hear the Hallelujah choir now! It’s a classic, American favorite and we’re going to make it the old-fashioned way so it tastes just a mouthwatering and scrumptious as it sounds.
