SURPRISE—WE'RE HAVING A BABY!
LeBraun + I are over the moon excited to become parents to this sweet little one.
As most of y'all probably know, we've never had a SET plan for the future. For us it was "never graduate university, get married, buy a house, start a family, etc"...we've always taken it day-by-day, year-by-year figuring out where we are and who we are. Well one day back in mid-2019 we both found ourselves on the same page — let's start trying for a family next year. No timeline, we'll just see how it goes and it will happen whenever the universe decides we're ready.
Well the universe knew what 2020 would have in store and decided that amongst the pandemic, travel restrictions, forest fires, postponed hockey season, general craziness LeBraun and I could use a special bright light addition to our family.
We found out we were expecting in March (about a week after most of the country shutdown due to COVID and stay-at-home orders were introduced).
We weren't necessarily keeping our pregnancy a secret, but it just ended up happening that way with us being across the country from everyone. We weren't running into people we knew at grocery stores or even at small gatherings. Plus we've been using this time to spend with each other as opposed to on social media, but we finally got around to getting things rounded up so SURPRISE!
We knew we wanted to capture this special milestone in our relationship / be able to share it with everyone back in the States + we had the best time taking these announcement photos with local Lake Country photographer Danae Marie Howson (@danaemariephoto)! Danae's upbeat yet calming personality instantly made us feel comfortable in from the the camera (which is definitely not our strong suit, hence the 100 pictures we typically have to take to get one "usable" picture, haha). She didn't overdirect but instead let us be ourselves. We didn't even notice the camera snapping away and before we knew it our session was complete. She captured our joy, what more could you ask for. :)
