That good old song of Wah-hoo-wah…
If you know the next verse to The Good Old Song, you may be Wahoo!
Students, alumni and fans put their arms around each other and sing this tune when their team scores. The University of Virginia is not just home to some powerhouse athletics, but it was founded in 1819 by Thomas Jefferson himself.
At the center of The Lawn of the original campus grounds sits the Rotunda. Inspired by the Pantheon in Rome and designed by the Founding Father, the Rotunda housed a library as opposed to a church which was common of English schools at the time. Construction was completed in 1826 shortly after Jefferson’s death and remains a symbol of his belief in the separation of church as education.
