Queen Victoria Building // Sydney
With towering copper-sheathed domed cupolas, The Queen Victoria Building—or in true Aussie-style shortened to QVB—is a gorgeous Romanesque Revival building that occupies the entire city block of George, Market, Druitt, and York Street. It was constructed during the late 1890s as a marketplace for Sydneysiders and named in commemoration of its namesake queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Inside’s a shopper’s paradise. Four floors of high-end boutiques, galleries, chocolate shoppes, homewares, fashion, eateries and more, all housed beneath beautifully restored stained-glass domes. Don't miss the two historic mechanical clocks!
