One of the most beautiful bookshops in the world, Livaria Lello has gained worldwide recognition as a frequented spot for author J.K. Rowling as she began writing the Harry Potter books. She lived in Porto in the early 90’s and has confirmed that the interior (including the amazing staircase) was inspiration for the design of the library at Hogwarts. The neo-Gothic building features a gorgeous twisting grand staircase, stained-glass skylights, Art Deco detailing, and of course a book collection Hermione would be proud of. :)
