The Opry is the longest running radio broadcast in U.S. history, hosting weekly broadcasts since November 1925. Moving around Nashville venues for several years, The Opry found its first home at The Ryman Auditorium in 1943 where it remained for 31 years before moving to its current location The Grand Ole Opry House at Opryland, just outside the city. Fun Fact: Every year for the three winter months since 1999, The Grand Ole Opry returns to the Ryman Auditorium to acknowledge its roots.
A pilgrimage to “Country’s Most Famous Stage” is a must-do when in Nashville. Reserve tickets for the performances on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
Performing on this storied stage is emotional and membership in The Opry remains once of country music’s crowning achievements.
