Empire State Building // New York
Empire State Building // New York
Looking at the Manhattan skyline, one skyscraper and its color-changing lights light up Midtown each night—The Empire State Building. This cultural icon was completed in 1931 and stood as the world’s tallest building at 1,250-feet (86-stories) for nearly 40 years. Did you know the name is derived from NY state’s nickname “Empire State”? You can’t get much more NY than that!
“Empy” is one of my favorite pieces of architecture on Manhattan, and can be spotted making guest appearances in countless tv shows, movies, and books, including our a few of our household faves like Sleepless in Seattle, Enchanted and Elf. :)
